In terms of the territory of Nurabad district, it ranks first in Samarkand region. The total land area is 486,237 sq.m. and the population is over 149,100. Our district is known in our country for its wonderful nature and hospitable people. On one side there are majestic mountains, on the other side there are magnificent hills, plains and attractive reservoirs. Due to the excellent geographical location of the territory of our district, there is a favorable environment and conditions for medical, eco and pilgrimage tourism.
Today, Nurbulak and Mash'al mahallas of our district have favorable natural conditions for medical tourism. There are rhodon and mineral water treatment facilities in these districts. In 2018, qualified water physicians provided water treatment services to 132,650 tourists from other regions of the country and local tourists in 19 water treatment facilities. Two more projects related to this area of medical tourism (Nazar Bobo Sanatorium, Ergash Haji Ota Medical Center) are about to be commissioned in Mashal MFY. Medical tourism is well developed in the district.
When it comes to ecotourism, it is impossible not to dwell on the beautiful mountainous areas of our district. Ecotourism services are provided to foreign and local tourists by private entrepreneurs in Mehnatkash and Aksay mahallas of our district. Nilufar Nomozova Shifo Maskani has started construction of an ecotourism facility near the Kattakurgan reservoir in the Nurdum mahalla. By 2020, this place will begin to provide services to ecotourism enthusiasts. In the territory of Oqsoy mahalla, “Oqsoy XD” LLC plans to provide cable and paragliding services to local and foreign tourists, and from 2021, “Oqsoy XD” LLC will provide these services.
Pilgrimage tourism is widespread throughout the district. Today, the Hazrati Davud shrine in the Aksay mahalla has become a favorite place for foreign and local tourists.
The Arab Ota (or White Mosque) shrine in the village of Tim has a 10th-11th century mausoleum and the tomb of a scholar who made a worthy contribution to the spread of Islam in Central Asia.
The Kochkorli ota shrine, located near the village of Jarkuduk, is also a favorite place of pilgrimage for our people. One of the most prominent representatives of Naqshbandi doctrine in the XII-XIV centuries is buried in this shrine.
There is a mausoleum and a mosque built in the XIV-XV centuries in the shrine "Astana ota", where the great representatives of the "Ishqiya" sect of the Islamic world are buried.
In short, the district has a huge potential for medical, eco and pilgrimage tourism.
